Sus tramas y reflexiones plasmadas con destreza y originalidad en sus libros le han merecido numerosos premios: el Premio Herralde por su novela \u201cEl testigo\u201d, el Premio ACE por su obra de teatro \u201cFilosof\u00eda de vida\u201d, el Premio Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Arguedas por su novela \u201cArrecife\u201d, entre otras distinciones.
