Esta obra influy\u00f3 en novelas posteriores como <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La casa grande<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, de \u00c1lvaro Cepeda Samudio, o <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El coronel no tiene quien le escriba<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cien a\u00f1os de soledad<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, de Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez. En su centenario, se relanza en Penguin Cl\u00e1sicos junto al poema <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tierra de promisi\u00f3n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">que refleja la conexi\u00f3n del autor con la selva. Esta edici\u00f3n incluye la \u00faltima versi\u00f3n de la novela con los mapas originales omitidos en ediciones anteriores. En el 2021, la persistencia de la traductora Dimitra Papavasil\u00edu llev\u00f3 a su publicaci\u00f3n en Grecia por la Editorial Stigmos.
